We are currently seeking a dedicated Certified Restorative Nursing Aide (RNA) to join our skilled nursing facility.
Overview of the position
The Restorative Nursing Aide (RNA) continues the maintenance program established and instructed by Physical Therapist and/or Occupational Therapist with a physician’s order. Performs other restorative programs for assigned residents under the direction of the Director of Nursing or designee.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide Restorative Care: Assist residents with ambulation, range of motion (ROM) exercises, weight-bearing therapy, and other restorative nursing services as per their care plan.
- Encourage Resident Participation: Support residents in performing activities of daily living (ADLs) and encourage independence.
- Monitor and Document Progress: Record residents’ participation and response to restorative services in compliance with facility policies and state regulations.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with nursing and rehabilitation staff to ensure residents receive appropriate care and make recommendations for care modifications.
- Maintain Equipment and Safety: Monitor and arrange repairs for adaptive equipment, ensure a clean and safe therapy area, and follow infection control guidelines.
- Assist with Mobility and Transfers: Help residents move, turn, position, and transfer safely using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Respond to Resident Needs: Answer call lights promptly and address residents' concerns with kindness, dignity, and respect.
- Ensure Compliance and Reporting: Follow safety regulations, report hazards, resident grievances, abuse allegations, and infectious diseases as required.
- Emergency and Additional Responsibilities: Assist in emergency evacuations, attend mandatory training sessions, and be available for work beyond normal hours as needed.

- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Current and valid CNA certification issued by the Department of Health Services, along with an RNA certification.
- At least two (2) years of prior experience in providing personal care to impaired individuals in a skilled-nursing setting is preferred.
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds independently and over 100 pounds with assistance, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform bending, squatting, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching as required for resident care.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, staff, and external agencies while demonstrating exceptional customer service and empathy.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of working in a skilled nursing facility, including handling emergencies, resident behaviors, family concerns, and exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, and HIPAA-sensitive information.
