What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service: Cook position at Westwood Public Schools?
Job Description:
The Cook's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
-Arrive 5-10min before start of shift
-Maintain safe and sanitary food practices.
-Proper food labeling and rotation practices.
-Follow HACCP Guidelines.
-Reheating and holding temperatures and record keeping.
-Maintain a safe working environment.
-Must be able to work at a fast pace when needed
-Breakfast line cook experience a plus
-Must be a team player and work well with others
-Assist Executive Chef by placing daily and weekly orders for individual school
-Maintain daily Production Records.
-Assist the Executive Chef in any way, to make sure meals are prepared and served as intended.
-Coordinate and produce lunches for the school at a high quality
-Use of batch cooking methods
-Coordinate with school nurse with meals for allergy related issues
-Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
-Responsible for records for meals served.
-Making sure meals qualify for a reimbursable meal.
Requirements:
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift fifty pounds off the floor
- Must be able to lift 25 over head.
- Serve Safe Certified (certification may be obtained after hire)
- Allergen Training is required. (certification may be obtained after hire)
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- C.P.R training (certificatio may be obtained after hire)
- Able to work in a high energy environment. Handle problems as they arise and adjust to the situation accordingly.
Hours:
Monday-Friday
7am-2:30pm (30hrs/week) (Subject to change as needs change)
