Summary
The Production Expediter, "Water Spider", will organize and maintain the staging of incoming procured parts and in-house finished components toward a kitted assembly. Working with partners in production in a fast paced environment include: machine shop, welding, fabrication, procurement,
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Breakdown drawings of assembly orders, determine shortages, submit procurement requests to purchasing, submit fabrication requests to machine shop, obtain and follow-up on lead times from internal department leads as well as outside vendors
- Process incoming parts to their planned destination including staging for customer orders, or to inventory storage locations. Record receipts in Quickbooks and Excel spreadsheets
- Assist in the movement of parts and material throughout the manufacturing and assembly process
- Communicate the completion of the kitting of an item to the assembly manager, obtain an assembly schedule, update Excel spreadsheet, follow-up on schedule
- See that finished goods are delivered to their final destination in a timely manner
- Communicate verbally with management any delays, postponements, or any other issue affecting the delivery date of a part and record this in Excel spreadsheet
- Responsible for accurate status updates and tracking of parts both verbally and updating Excel status sheets daily
- Pull inventory from shelving locations to stage for customer orders or process for shipping
- Pack outgoing orders for shipping, protecting product from damage in transit
- Process shipping documents using UPS and Fedex online shipping software
- Communicate immediately inventory shortages and inaccurate inventory levels to management
- Receive incoming parts and their location into Quickbooks
- Perform regular cycle counts in the warehouse
- See that returned parts are properly documented and processed through the RMA system in a timely manner
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized warehouse
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office based programs including Excel and Word
- 3 year of Manufacturing and Warehousing experience
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Experience operating forklift and other material management equipment
