Wetherill Engineering’s Raleigh, NC office is seeking an experienced SUE Survey Analyst to perform all survey duties related to the mapping of underground utilities and related above ground structures for all assigned SUE projects. The position is full time with benefits.
Job Description
- Responsible for the operation of a field survey crew
- Organize field work, direct crew members and maintain a safe work environment
- Must be able to coordinate the activities of SUE designating and locating crews to keep current and up to date
- Protect and maintain the proper care of company equipment and vehicles
- Accurately and efficiently collect field designated utilities, test holes and features, deliver data to the office
- Maintain accurate records and field notes of SUE work
· Good communication and technical skills; analytical, problem solver and detail oriented
- Some overnight travel may be required.
- Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and all types of project site terrains
Required Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED
· 7 years progressive experience in survey field operations with a minimum of two years as a SUE Technician II
· Proficient with operation of electromagnetic utility detection equipment, GPR and vacuum excavation equipment
· Familiar with all types of underground utility network systems and structures (utility main and service connections, valves, hand holes, manholes and vaults, etc.)
· Valid driver’s license and good driving record
· Experience with survey field equipment not required but considered a major plus
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management of SUE projects and project team
- Manage project performance, to include, schedule, budget and quality of the work
- Prepare SUE plans; manage project team including delegating tasks and ensuring compliance with project scope and schedule
- Provide minor utility coordination services including conducting meetings, preparing agreements and cost estimates, approving design plans, specifications and other submittals.
- Assist marketing staff with marketing packages, proposal preparation, proposal review and presentations
- Identify and solicit project opportunities with current and new clients and attend marketing meetings as needed
- Assist in developing procedures, standards, methods and systems to improve project delivery
Pay: $60,000 to $80,000 depending on experience
Must be willing to travel as necessary to various job sites. Fieldwork includes exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
