Reports To: Building Principal
Start Date: Immediately
Work Year: 183-day position (10 months) (late August to mid-June)
Compensation: $26.39 - $31.13 per hour worked
Work Hours: 9:15am - 2:30pm (Monday - Friday) (excluding 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Paid Hours: 4.75 hours per day = 23.75 hours per week

As a tutor working less than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible for various benefits including paid sick time, paid personal days, paid holidays (starting in August 2025), and retirement benefits. Hanmer Elementary School has an opening for a Title 1 Math Tutor. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated professional with superior communication skills to provide student intervention support for the remainder of the 2024-2025 academic year.
The Math Tutor will work across all grade levels (K-6) to support students with direct, targeted math intervention/instruction to promote student growth toward grade-level expectations and goal mastery.

Responsibilities
- Implement daily lesson plans for students targeting individualized support;
- Work directly with students to provide targeted one-on-one/small group instruction or push into classrooms;
- Provide students with positive feedback and encouragement;
- Support student understanding of math concepts and demonstration of math fluency skills;
- Track and maintain records of student progress;
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to communicate goals/achievements, progress, student challenges, and changes in interventions;
- Foster a positive learning environment that is sensitive to student needs and promotes increased math/learning performance;
- Provide building curriculum specialist with regular reports of student progress toward learning goals.
- Hold a minimum of an Associates' Degree;
- Elementary Teacher certification is preferred, but not required;
- Enthusiasm for helping children;
- Respectful attitude;
- Ability to manage plans and drive positive results;
- Patience;
- Flexibility and adaptability.
