Western Timberlands is seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Manager to lead the Snow Peak Forest Area Operating Team in the Willamette Valley Region. This role is based in Lebanon, Oregon, and reports directly to the Willamette Valley Region Manager. The Snow Peak Operating Area spans approximately 130,000 acres and includes a dedicated staff of foresters, engineers, harvest managers and administrative assistants. There are 7-salaried staff and 15-hourly production employees. The Area Manager leads and drives the execution of Western Timberlands' operating strategy in alignment with the Willamette Valley Region Roadmap.
Key Functions:
- Leadership & Vision: Champion the Weyerhaeuser Company Vision, embodying core values of safety, integrity, citizenship, sustainability, and inclusion. Focus on people development, operational excellence, and capital optimization.
- Operational Oversight: Manage all operational activities and business outcomes for the team. Foster an effective and engaged culture, establish efficient processes, and oversee financial budgeting, tracking, and monitoring. Management of the Snow Peak Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement.
- Goal Setting & Feedback: Set clear expectations, manage measurable and time-bound goals, provide continuous feedback, and address issues promptly.
- Collaboration: Partner across organizational and functional boundaries to optimize the supply chain, drive operational excellence, and replicate best practices.
- Representation & Accountability: Serve as the site representative and work collaboratively with the Willamette Valley Region Team, including planning, marketing, and logistics.
- Field Engagement: Spend time in the field to ensure alignment with staff and contractors.
- Education & Experience: Four-year degree preferred with a minimum of 10 years of related job experience.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to engage in a diverse organization, drive continuous improvement, develop people, and create a positive work environment.
- Collaboration & Resource Utilization: Achieve results through effective collaboration and resource utilization across the business, region, and external stakeholders.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of key financial and business metrics to identify opportunities and drive results.
- Communication & Relationship Building: Excellent communication and relationship skills with a proven ability to support and guide change initiatives.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $117,328 - $176,132 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 20% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3 weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
