Weyerhaeuser is seeking individuals who are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic and a desire to work in a manufacturing facility. Weyerhaeuser’s Montana Wood Products is currently looking to fill Car Tally positions at our Columbia Falls MDF facility.

Pay Rate: $25.11, progression to Car Loader DOE $28.21

Key Functions

• Support manufacturing by maintaining an accurate tally of orders in stock (including piece counts) and reporting shortages to the Car Loader or Shipping Lead in a timely manner to maximize the efficiency of the shipping department.
• Learn the duties of Car Loader, as this position is in the line of progression to Car Loader. Fill in for Production Line as needed.
• Operate, service and maintain equipment; including but not limited to hand tools and forklift.
• Complete paperwork in an accurate and legible manner.
• Other duties include, but are not limited to measuring cars for proper loading, placing and filling air bags, placing or building blocks (dunnage) in cars as needed, banding units, wrapping flat cars, loading rail cars or trucks as conditions warrant, keeping inventory of all shipping items, moving orders, maintaining supplies of clips, nails and edge protectors, and keeping the work area clean.
• Learn the duties of Car Loader, as this position is in the line of progression to Car Loader. Fill in for Production Line as needed.
• Operate, service and maintain equipment; including but not limited to hand tools and forklift.

Specific Skills

• Knowledge of procedures to keep accurate tally of orders and standard shipping procedures to maintain shipping and organization of product.
• Ability to climb on units to pull unit tags, band units, close boxcar doors, and wrap flat cars to protect wood from environment.
• Ability to operate, service and maintain equipment; included but not limited to hand tools and forklift.
• Ability to complete paperwork in an accurate and legible manner.
• Ability to maximize shipping of product and minimize loss to the company.
• Ability to work with little direct supervision and be self-motivated.
• Ability to work closely with others; be a team player/leader; demonstrate good communication skills, and a positive attitude.
• Knowledge and willingness to use lockout procedures and necessary PPE.
• Ability to maintain a clean work station, and exhibit good performance, safety and attendance records.
• Willingness to work any shift, work on short notice, work overtime and weekends and rotate between jobs; as well as perform any job as specified by supervisor.
• Willingness to learn Car Loader position and move up line of progression.
  
  

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit and drive forklift on a frequent basis; frequently reach and grasp; climb on/off forklift, ladder, stacks of units; and occasionally lift/carry up to 100lbs.
• Must have good sight in all parameters of vision
