Weyerhaeuser Company is currently recruiting for an Entry Level Production Trainee Associate with potential to grow into an Operator Position for our lumber manufacturing facility located in Holden, LA. This operational role is key in safely ensuring the effective and efficient finishing of processed boards, resulting in the quality lumber that will be shipped to our customers.

Key Functions:
- Must role model safety, promote the use of all safety program activities (RADAR , safety coaching, incident investigation, safety audits, etc.), and provide safety training to production team members
- Support department leadership with continuous improvement efforts
- Champion proactive maintenance to improve safety and reliability
- Identify, prioritize, plan and implement critical jobs
- Lead, assist, and provide training to production team members
- Complete leadership safety observation forms as required
- Escalate personnel issues as needed
- Write, review, and modify JSA’s
- Conduct pre-shift safety meetings
- Coordinate activities between maintenance and operations
- Troubleshoot and communicate maintenance issues
- Role model positive attitudes
- Motivate, invigorate, and drive the team toward positive trends in all key metrics
- Ensure all value and quality standards are met
- Role model teamwork with willingness to assist anywhere onsite during scheduled and off hours
- Understand performance metrics
- Prepare and maintain reports as directed
- Work to maintain/improve shift productivity
- Support mill maintenance projects as needed
- Use Maintenance Systems (SAP and Activplant)
Qualifications
- Able to work safely and follow all company policies and procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Safe work history
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills and strong ability to build and maintain rapport with colleagues and leadership
- Demonstrate initiative and strong work ethic
- Basic computer and math skills
- Ability to learn all primary functions and secondary functions
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to lead and facilitate team problem solving with management, staff and other associates
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and operation knowledge
- Willing to work any shift/schedule/day and overtime as needed
- Willing to travel for training and other mill leadership activities as needed
- Successful completion of assessment process, background check and post-offer pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Able to work any shift, weekends, overtime, holidays as needed
- Able to work in extreme temperatures, in dusty and noisy conditions, while wearing safety equipment
- Able to perform all essential job functions, which include changing saws/knives, lifting 2-20 pounds regularly, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, climb steps and ladders, and standing or walking for 2-3 hours at a time for 10 to 12 hours.
