We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our team in Dodson, LA. This role is crucial to ensuring the efficient handling of materials, resulting in quality lumber shipped to our customers.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent work ethic, and a desire to work in a manufacturing facility.
- Safely operate the forklift to move lumber and other materials within the facility.
- Conduct regular pre-shift inspections on the forklift to ensure it's in good working condition.
- Service the forklift as needed to maintain optimal performance.
- Total commitment to working safely and following all company/site rules and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to housekeeping standards.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently in assigned areas.
- Feed or place items onto equipment for processing or removing items after processing.
- Interpret work instructions and successfully complete tasks as delegated.
- Safely start up and shut down equipment in assigned areas of responsibility.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of prior forklift experience.
- 1-2 years operating heavy mobile equipment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work behaviors and practices, as well as all company policies and procedures.
- Previous experience in an industrial environment preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math computer skills.
- Able to perform all essential job functions of an industrial environment, including lifting 2-20 pounds regularly, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, climbing steps/ladders, working from heights, standing or walking for 2-3 hours at a time for 10 hours or more, working in extreme temperatures, dust, and noise while wearing all safety equipment.
- Flexible with schedule and able to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical.
