We have immediate openings at our Millport, Alabama lumber mill for Production Operators to support our Weekend Operations in the sawmill and planer mill. The Weekend shift is Friday through Sunday, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Positions available include Crane operator, Log yard technician, Value technician, Equipment operators (Trimmer, Edger, Tilt-hoist, Primary break-down, Gang-saw, Feeder), Equipment operator (Merchandiser area), Forklift operator (finished goods transport).
These are full-time, non-exempt positions with excellent growth potential and opportunities for advancement. Our state-of-the-art mill produces high-quality lumber used for residential construction throughout the USA. We're proud of our reputation for manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement.
Pay ranges from $23.69 to $31.11, including a $1 shift differential. Starting pay is contingent upon the job assigned after initial onboarding and new hire training.
Key Functions:
•Total commitment to working safely and following all safety rules and regulations
•Responsible for safely operating equipment and conducting housekeeping activities in each assigned area
•Feeding product or placing product onto equipment for processing or removing items after processing
•Interpreting work instructions adequately and successfully completing tasks as assigned
•Must demonstrate willingness and ability to learn new jobs and skills
•Communicating with team members and leadership to improve safety and operating performance as well as meeting job expectations
•Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment
Qualifications
The following qualifications are required:
•Must be able to work the Weekend Shift
•Must be at least 18 years of age
•High school diploma or GED
•Successfully pass the APT Assessment
•Must personally complete the employment application
•Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical
•Able to work overtime, holidays, as well as night and rotating shifts
•Able to perform labor-intensive work
•Able to work in extreme temperatures, in dusty and noisy conditions, while wearing safety equipment
•Able to complete forklift training
•Able to work safely around moving manufacturing equipment and machinery
•Able to lift 2-20 pounds regularly, climb steps and ladders, work from heights, and stand or walk for 2-3 hours at a time for 13 hours
•Forklift experience is preferred
•Basic computer skills a plus
•Resume detailing education and work history, is preferred
