Job Description
- Key Functions:
- Manage and maintain overall product quality
- Create a safe work environment and culture
- Deliver Key Value Metrics
- Clean, calibrate, align, and perform minor maintenance on specific Sawmill equipment
- Enter and maintain databases
- Perform quality checks using tools such as tape measure and calipers
- Pull boards out of the flow to measure for accuracy
- Understand process from incoming raw materials through end-point customer
- Apply knowledge of optimizing systems
- Monitor quality aspects at each Sawmill machine center
- Compile and send shift reports on quality and related issues
- Monitor performance of Size Check
- Work with outside agencies and vendors during inspections, audits, and customer visits
- Troubleshoot and research root causes of quality issues and interact with others to resolve problems
- Network with peers at other Weyerhaeuser sites for peer-to-peer learnings and information sharing
- Work with support teams to resolve issues
- Participate in occasional conference calls
