Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Feed Milling Specialist. In this role, you’ll be responsible for mixing bulk swine feed tailored to meet the nutritional needs of our customers’ livestock. Essential Job Responsibilities
- Receive and process customer feed orders using internal software system
- Plan and prioritize feed mixing operations, taking into consideration biosecurity protocols, medication requirements, and customer specifications
- Operate the automated batching system to follow feed recipes accurately, ensuring correct ingredients and adherence to customer guidelines
- Assign feed loads fairly to semi-truck drivers for delivery
- Communicate effectively with the second-shift operator regarding completed tasks and any essential handoff information
- Complete daily tasks efficiently while tracking labor hours and staying within budget
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the milling area
- Identify and address maintenance issues as they arise
- Ensure trucks are properly weighed
- Keep accurate records of feed production, medications, and other relevant information
- Collect and submit required samples and reports
- Strictly follow and enforce all biosecurity procedures
- Occasionally lift 50-pound bags of feed ingredients as needed

Requirements:
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Background in agriculture is preferred, but not mandatory
Qualifications
- Genuine interest in working within the agriculture industry and a desire to learn the process of manufacturing swine feed
- Proficient in using computers and basic software applications
- Proactive with a strong sense of responsibility
- Self-driven and motivated to succeed

- Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Work Environment
Schedule: Must be available to work assigned days and hours. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Full-time availability is required, with a minimum of 80 hours per pay period. Occasional holiday or weekend shifts may be necessary. Will be put on the fall schedule during harvest (Sept-Nov) which will consist of two evenings per week and a potential weekend day.
Work Environment: This position involves working both indoors and outdoors, primarily in a feed mill setting. Conditions can be dusty, and noise levels range from moderate to loud.
