Job Summary
The Regional Manager of Training manages and maintains and assists in the development of compliance, procedural and operational training for airline passenger, cargo and ground handling processes within a specific region and additionally maintains management oversight of audit and training programs for safety, security, and quality and oversight. This position will require extensive knowledge in ULD loading configurations and aircraft load concepts and serve as subject matter expert for all aircraft ramp loading and unloading procedures.
Responsibilities
Coordinate with field general managers / station managers and station trainers to ensure personnel receive both initial and recurrent training specific to their job functions
Evaluate training compliance in assigned stations to verify all records are complete and current and that daily operations fully meet government and WFS Standards
Provide Train – The -Trainer certifications and assist local management personnel and designated station instructors on new procedures, government regulatory bulletins and training deficiencies
Assist with the development, revisions and designing of training courses and programs
Verify all mandated training has been completed by stations in assigned region
Perform independent station / process audits with focus on training, safety, security, and quality policies & procedures as needed
Document and submit reports for assigned region of responsibility to company Directors of Training and Quality Assurance and the Vice President of Training and Quality Assurance
Assist, and coach stations to complete required daily and weekly inspections as mandated by the company and department
Verify stations in assigned region complete all reports as required by any government agency or official airport authority
Attend meetings with other managers to assist and inform of all training, safety or security related issues being discussed
Compile data to submit to Directors of Training and Quality Assurance to assist in proposals for improvements to processes and procedures
Assist on special projects and events as needed or perform other duties as required
Meet with customer / airline representatives when / directed as needed for training or audit related issues
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma and two years or equivalent experience in airline ground handling / cargo safety, security, or training.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work effectively with individuals and groups with a variety of management levels, identities, cultures, backgrounds, and ideologies in a global environment.
Knowledgeable in all appropriate domestic and international guidance and regulations (e.g., TSA, FAA, IATA, OSHA, CBP, pertaining to transportation operations and Worldwide Flight Services.
Knowledgeable in Federal Air Regulations pertaining to Worldwide Flight Services’ Passenger, Cargo and Ground Handling operations.
Excellent leadership and organizational abilities.
Preferred Skills
Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
Ability to use a computer and applicable MS office software
Ability to work with little or no supervision and alone or as part of a dynamic team
Experience with cargo handling systems and loading procedures and load documents.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Travel frequently upwards to 80% or more as approved by the Sr. VP of Safety and Security North America or the Vice President of Training and Quality Assurance and any other company approving official.
Must be able to perform the following functions in variable weather and environmental conditions :
Push, pull, bend, stoop, twist, turn, reach, crawl, or grip as necessary to demonstrate job functions and operate required equipment.
Work in restricted spaces as necessary to demonstrate job functions.
Work in a high noise level environment.
Tolerate dust, jet fumes, and toxic chemicals.
Visit stations for regularly scheduled audits or training support assignments
Investigate incidents / accidents / events as requested
Attend meetings / conduct on-site coaching as necessary
Responsible for maintaining expense reports and adhering to travel budgets
