Job Summary
The Technical Product Manager is responsible for the success of the software products which support WFS’s cargo organization. They work cross-functionally with the teams building and supporting the software products. Responsible for representing the needs and desires of the stakeholder community to the Agile teams and will be the expert on the market and the customer. Accountable for one or more Agile development team and drives the solution concept across these teams. They are responsible for how things get implemented and what technology is required to meet the business requirements.
Responsibilities
Uncover and understand customer needs and translate them into requirements documented in the form of user stories and functional requirements.
Ensure requirements are fully understood by developers, quality assurance and operations and that implementation plans match expectations.
Provide vision and direction to the development team and stakeholders throughout the project.
Works with third parties to map out integration plans or evaluate different technology options.
Understand, research, and follow technical trends in the cargo industry.
Follow competitors and conduct capability analysis.
Provide internal and customer training on how to use the product.
Answer incoming questions about the product and its capabilities.
Assess and address technical risks.
Understand and analyze data pipelines, algorithms, and automated systems.
Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert to the technical team,
Define success criteria for testing and product acceptance.
Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.
Take lead of scrum teams as the Product Owner.
Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development in Jira. Ensure that the team always has an adequate number of prepared tasks to work on.
Evaluate and prioritize changes and enhancements requests to ensure work focuses on those with maximum business value or ROI.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Product Manager including strong track record of shaping business strategy and ability to align software teams and senior leadership around the product vision.
Experience in the cargo industry desired.
Experience in warehouse management desired.
Experience in the airline industry desired.
Experience with writing business / functional requirements.
Experience implementing Agile methodologies.
Experience with SQL, .Net framework 4.5, MVC design pattern, MVC Core, and LINQ.
Knowledge of Python and X-Code Object C, and Web Services RESTful / JSON is desired.
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent technical field.
US Citizenship required.

Possess advanced engineering and design skills.
Able to assess emerging products to measure their potential value to the company and its operation, as well as make recommendations on which new technologies to invest in or leverage.
Skilled at breaking down problems, building consensus, and setting direction in challenging situations.
Proven ability translating qualitative and quantitative feedback into product requirements and actionable insights.
Experienced at managing priorities and tradeoffs to deliver the highest value solutions for customers and end users.
Superior product judgment - understands when to pivot and how to experiment in order to reduce uncertainty and inform next steps.
Strong written and verbal communicator; can build trust with partners and influence decision-making towards the highest value outcomes.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
Walk short distances.
Reach above and / or below shoulder.
Handle / grasp documents or office equipment.
Sit and / or stand for short or extended periods of time.
Lift / carry / move objects, files and documents up to 10 pounds.
Work in an office environment using standard office equipment.
Talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
