WFSU Public Media’s Education and Engagement team is on the lookout for an enthusiastic, creative educator who’s passionate about making learning fun!

Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Implement education programs around WFSU PBS KIDS programs within schools and informal learning centers and with community partners. Plans and implements hands-on experiences in schools, after schools, camps, special events, family engagements, and more as part of the education team.
- Takes leadership role as assigned at various venues including public schools and partner’s organizations. We are moving towards hybrid models of interaction, so leading learning experiences virtually is a part of this position.
- Assists with program and event material preparation, set-up, tear-down, and clean-up. Ensures that all materials for events, programs, technology tools, and books are prepared, organized, and available for all education and engagement activities. This includes the ability to drive and drop off materials and/or prepare them for mailing. Adheres to all Fire Marshall and WFSU Management safety standards.
- Works adaptively with a variety of ages and audiences from PreK–3rd grade-aged students, families, educators, and parents.
- Attends staff meetings, webinars, professional development, responds to calls and emails, makes copies, and maintains files.
Other Responsibilities
- Assists department management in developing grant reporting narratives and tracking budgets. Compile data for use in monthly and annual reports required by CPB and other funding organizations as assigned. Includes documentation with video, photographs, and anecdotal information to support our work.
- Acts in ways that reflect favorably on WFSU Public Media and maintains professional standards in the quality of performance and demonstration of concern for WFSU Public Media’s programs and facilities. Adheres to FSU employee guidelines and other organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, elementary education, science education, math education, English education, or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience leading educational programming.
- Ability to teach varying skill levels and age groups – especially prek-2nd.
- Works effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented setting.
- Adept in conducting and participating in virtual settings and is proficient in using and creating social media, spoken, written, and non-verbal communications.
- Must be willing and available to travel to surrounding communities and work occasional weekends and evening hours.

- Proof of a valid Class E driver’s license or the ability to obtain a license upon hire.
- Ability to pass a Level II background check and Leon County Schools security clearance.
- Standing, sitting, crouching, grasping, bending, walking, talking, and lifting to 25 lbs. are required to perform job duties.
- Able and willing to potentially wear character costumes for special events!
