Corporate Controller

Job Overview
Manage the financial affairs of a small multi-state industrial company. The Controller applies the generally accepted principles of accounting to maintain company accounting records, analyze financial information, prepare management reports and participate in the overall financial management of the organization. This position requires a willingness to be involved with all levels of accounting, from preparing and posting entries to analyzing information and recommending actions. The controller takes an active position in corporate financial management focused on manufacturing cost accounting and cash flow management. The Controller will work in conjunction with staff, leadership and vendors and customers to deliver top-notch service and financial performance across multiple locations and related organizations.

The controller supports the CEO, reports directly to the COO and indirectly to the executive staff.

Duties

• Manage month-end close and prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts; prepare monthly financial statements, including distribute monthly revenue and expenditure reports.
• Leads cost accounting analysis for manufacturing processes
• Analyze and reconcile expenditure and revenue accounts.
• Prepare sales, profitability and cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare schedules for external use and act as the liaison between the company and outside service providers.
• Lead weekly cash flow management, monthly inventory, periodic fixed asset and fiscal year-end accounting reports.
• Proactively participate in cross-functional and company-wide initiatives.
• Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
• Use Company ERP system to enter, track, report and analyze company financial information.
• Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results; initiate corrective actions; minimize the impact of variances.
• Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, identifying monetary resources; and recommending action plans.
• Provide ad hoc analysis as needed.
• Manages bank transactions and provide updates on account
• Actively support corporate policies for safety, quality, productively and customer satisfaction.
• Assist plants with understanding the components of their financials and where they are derived to assist them in managing them.
• Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Experience

• · Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience
• · Experience in Cost Accounting functions for Manufacturing
• · CPA or MBA a plus
• · Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• · Experience with a company wide ERP system such as Odessey or Plex
• · Understanding of financial regulations and reporting requirements
• · Strong analytical ability.
• · Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports.
• · Strong interpersonal skills to support and develop individuals and teams
• · Demonstrated proficiency in the application of technology/computers/applications
• · 5 years’ experience in a financial managerial position
• · 3 years experience in a financial managerial position with a manufacturing company.
• · Past experience performing AP and AR.
• · Project Management
• · Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills
• · Demonstrated ability to balance multiple, competing priorities while working under tight deadlines

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
