Responsibilities:
Logistics Coordination:
- Study and understand our commodities and customers to provide the higheststandard of service using various platforms: email, phone, apps, WMS system;
- Process orders, forms, and requests on inbound and outbound shipments and resolve errors with a sense of urgency as this is a just-in-time (JIT) shipping experience for our client;
- Coordinate transportation providers, prompt movement of shipments, and special shipping arrangements accurately, including proper shipping paperwork for truck drivers, as well UPS and FedEx carriers;
- Keep records of customer interactions, transactions, request and communicate and coordinate with teams as necessary;
- Act as a ‘Client-First’ advocate, and trouble-shoot resolutions to best serve the customer and meet business goals;
- Answer all phones and emails, prioritize client and vender requests and coordinate with warehouse teams for solutions;
- Clearly communicate client needs, or change-requests as needed, to all affected teams;
- Accurate data entry, and invoicing utilizing WMS system;
- Effective communication skills required for success;
- Supervise receiving, input receiving data and container information into WMS System;
- Monitor inventory status in the system, coordinate with Production Leads for any possible inventory discrepancies;
- Ad Hoc tasks assigned by Warehouse Supervisor and Operations Manager;
Inventory Control:
1. Inventory Management:
- Assume ownership of warehouse inventory counts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Perform data entry and ensure all inventory transactions are accurately recorded.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low stock items.
- Monitor inbound and outbound orders and perform random inspection/count for accuracy
2. Cycle Counting:
- Conduct regular monthly cycle counts.
- Reconcile cycle count results with inventory records.
- Report discrepancies to Warehouse Supervisor and General Manager with suggested solutions
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies identified during cycle counts.
- Implement corrective actions to prevent future discrepancies.
3. Inventory Audits:
- Assist in planning and executing periodic physical inventory audits.
- Support external and internal audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Identify obsolete inventory and determine how to best remove it.
4. Inventory Control:
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure the integrity of inventory data.
- Monitor inventory movements and ensure proper documentation and tracking.
- Identify and address any issues related to inventory control, such as damaged or flawed/non-conforming stock.
5. Reporting:
- Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide regular inventory status updates to management.
6. Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate order fulfillment and inventory management.
- Communicate with other departments, such as warehouse supervisor and logistics coordinator, to coordinate inventory needs and resolve issues.
- Train warehouse staff on inventory control procedures and best practices.
7. Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
8. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in inventory management.
Ad Hoc tasks assigned by Warehouse Supervisor and Management
Requirements:
Required Qualifications, Skills and Education
- College Degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience in logistics, shipping, or receiving.
- Strong diligence and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task, effectively adapt to changes and thrive in a fast-paced
environment.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in data analysis and excellent mathematical skills
- Experience with standard logistics documents. (Bill of Lading, Warehouse tickets)
- Basic understanding, knowledge, or experience in handling & securing of logistic
shipments
