Responsibilities
- Working with patients; taking medical histories and entering information into an electronic medical records system; filing insurance claims.
- Performs preliminary testing for eye exams- as in refraction, intraocular pressure checks and ocular photos.
- Assists patient in finding the perfect frame and lenses for their lifestyle.
- Processes contact lens orders, which includes pricing, collecting money, and documenting patient charts.
- Teaches new contact lens wearer on how to insert, remove, clean and care for lenses.
- Provides office support by answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments and checking in patients for appointments.
- Performs phone calls to confirm missed, next day and next year appointments.
- Maintains, cleans and organizes the office.
- General office duties.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates effective human relation and communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills and general office and computer knowledge.
- Must be detailed oriented, dependable, efficient, able to work in a fast-paced clinic and be a team player.
- Optical knowledge a plus but not required. (We will train for the Optometric technician portion).
- Punctual, motivated and goal oriented.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
