Wharton-Smith, Inc is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Superintendent with Commercial background for the Fort Myers, FL area. In this role, the successful is responsible for larger and more complicated projects, and for the supervision of all field operations on those assigned projects.
Responsibilities:
They will provide overall leadership for on-site field administration, supervision and technical management for all construction operations, including supervision of assistants, foremen, field engineers, subcontractors and other construction related personnel.
Requires regular communication with the Project Manager to receive direction and to provide feedback on status or issues, and the General Superintendent or Area Superintendent to coordinate resource requirements.
Responsible for supervising field personnel with responsibility for effective operation and results.
Lead a culture of safety on the project
Maintain quality control
Hold pre-task meetings with subcontractors
Field documents control
Daily Reports and safety forms
Subcontract coordination and conducts subcontractor meetings
Client relations
Participate in writing scopes of work
Project scheduling and updating
SWPPP management
Project closeout
Coordination of permit and inspections
Project site utilization plans
Field documents control
Manage As-Built drawings (maintained weekly)
Development of employees (Superintendents, Assistant Superintendent, field engineer, foreman, craft workers), Participate in Company initiatives, Identify new work opportunities and potential projects with current clients
Participate in writing scopes of work
Participate in Pre-Job Planning meeting
Project scheduling and updating
Assist with creating baseline schedule
SWPPP management
Project closeout
Manages and verifies layout
Review submittals
Identify all changes in scope to the Project Manager
Participate in presentation and proposal preparations
Participate in constructability review
Develop and mentor subordinates in the company
Support other projects and less experienced superintendents
Quality Control reviews.
Schedule safety training as required
Conduct daily inspections
Assign and review STA’s conducted by Foreman
Set an example by following all rules
Conduct weekly safety meetings
Set up and maintain MSDS book
Zero accidents goal
Manage accident SOP
Manage Subcontractor onsite safety
Walk with Safety Dept. during inspections
Enforce Stretch and Flex on all projects
Be prepared at all times for OSHA inspection
Execute safety violation forms when needed
Maintain labor budgets, Run end of shift meetings, Weekly team meetings, Board updates & Production plans
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelors degree preferred in related area
15 years’ experience construction-related experience or construction management/ engineering
Proven success in the completion of multi million-dollar projects
Must be able to pass background check for Jessica Lundsford Act badging.
