What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Safety Manager position at Wharton-Smith?
Wharton-Smith, Inc., a highly regarded General Contractor throughout the Southeast, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Safety Manager. We are currently seeking someone who is willing to work in the North Florida region and based out of our Jacksonville office.
Primary Responsibilities:
Aid in implementing and continuing development of organizational safety programs and initiatives.
Conduct Accident/Incident Investigations
Monitor & review project activities with the job team
Assist the project team in preplanning controls for upcoming work on each project.
Assist with development and revisions of the SSSP as site conditions change.
Participate as needed in project specific pre-construction safety meetings.
Have a high level of hazard awareness and mitigation knowledge.
Conduct Project Safety Assessments to ensure compliance with WSI Safety Program & OSHA regulations.
Conduct orientation and training as needed.
Requirements:
High School Diploma and/or postsecondary diploma in OH&S or related field. CHST, CIT, MOT, OSHA 30, and OSHA 500, or related industry experience
Minimum High School Diploma and/or postsecondary diploma in OH&S or related field. CHST, CIT, MOT, OSHA 30, and OSHA 500, or related industry experience
Qualifications:
Wide-spread knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, MOT, and Environmental standards and regulations.
This is a full-time position and requires local travel throughout the Wharton Smith business unit areas.
