Wharton Supply of Virginia is currently looking for:
Outside salesman
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced outside salesperson to join our team. The ideal applicant will have extensive experience with concrete building products and a track record of sales success. This position demands a highly organized individual capable of managing client relationships, carefully creating daily reports, and successfully communicating our services and capabilities to new and existing customers.
Responsibilities
· Generates and develops new direct sales accounts in assigned territories to meet specified goals.
· Maintains and nurtures existing client relationships that include commercial and residential clients.
· Creates and maintains a rolling 3-month sales activity calendar for assigned territory.
· Provides timely and accurate daily reports as required.
· Attends and participates in business or trade events as required.
· Focuses on customer face time in the field (80–100% minimum). Effectively plans customer visits.
· Work closely with the sales manager to target specific clients to maximize sales.
· Conducts him or herself and executes all responsibilities in a professional and effective manner consistent with company core values.
Requirements
· Proven experience in construction material sales or a related field.
· Strong knowledge of concrete construction, wall forming, and the construction industry.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ambitious, well organized, and highly motivated.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
· With training demonstrated the ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization.
· Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
· Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by the sales manager.
· Proficiency in understanding MS Office Suite.
· Outstanding communication skills bilingual welcome.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the designated territory throughout the Washington, Virginia, and Maryland areas
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, one to two years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in direct sales to construction contractors
