Summary



Primary Duties Include:
  • Manages all aspects of assigned development, improvement, and maintenance projects. Manages multiple projects simultaneously and is responsible for the successful completion of those projects.
  • Works collaboratively with the Maintenance & Construction Supervisor and Field Operations Supervisor on projects as assigned. Provides support for the Park Design and Development Manager on a range of planning efforts, projects, and activities.
  • Develops requests for proposals/qualifications. Coordinates the bidding process, pre-bid conferences and walk-throughs. Makes recommendations on the issuance of contracts. Negotiates and prepares contracts for service. Works closely with other staff during contract development to assure legal compliance, work performed, progress of project, cost and schedule, and resolution of contractual issues.
  • Oversees and coordinates the design and permit process and work of contractors, engineers, architects, and other personnel to assure efficient and economical use of funds, personnel, materials, facilities, and time. Coordinates design, specification and construction meetings.
  • Coordinates projects with tenants and staff, keeping the end users informed of the schedule and process. Works closely with other staff on plan and project development, space planning, construction costs, and timelines.
  • Conducts site inspections and keeps Park Design and Development Manager informed as to the progress of projects and of any developing problems, recommending alternative courses of action to mitigate such problems. Makes recommendations on change orders as necessary.
  • Updates electronic record drawings, creates floor plans, and develops concept drawings.
  • Provides technical expertise, consultation, and team leadership to develop creative solutions for complex organization-wide issues.
  • Plans, conducts and presents at project related meetings, including public meetings.

Salary Range:
  • Unrepresented- Range 10
Hiring rate depends on qualifications. This position receives annual pay increases to the next step in the associated salary range (apx. 3.8%) subject to satisfactory performance, in addition to any negotiated Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA).

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Construction or Project Management, Urban or Environmental Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, Public or Business Administration, Parks or Recreation Administration, or a related field AND four years of progressively responsible experience with capital, improvement, and maintenance projects INCLUDING two years of direct construction project management.
