WECU is seeking a Support Specialist to join our Document Management team in Bellingham, WA. This individual will strive to make a difference in members' lives as defined by WECU's mission and vision. Provides a high level of consistent service to our membership and staff. This position is responsible for processing a variety of member transactions, research, and subpoena requests, along with ATM balancing, scanning, indexing, and auditing a variety of items in OnBase workflows. Assists Administration building visitors and a variety of Admin. building departments with tasks as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Processes a variety of transactions including but not limited to : deposits, loan payments, check orders, cashier's checks, visa balance transfers, overdraft audits, incoming faxes, address changes and returned statements.
  • Handles requests for assistance from Admin. building departments including, but not limited to :

Assists Accounting with review and mailing of checks payable.

  • Assists Loan Processors with mailing vehicle registrations and other documents.
  • Processes all WECU CD mailers, sorts statements and deposits checks to appropriate GL.
  • Maintains Visitor Badge Log for visitors and outside vendors.
  • Accepts incoming paperwork, supplies and shipments, and routes appropriately.
  • Maintains Notary license program.
  • Processes employer and employee HSA contributions via deposits and transfers.
  • Ability to quote rates.
  • Processes loan payoff transactions via mail, e-mail and fax from dealerships, financial institutions, GAP / warranty cancellation refunds, and insurance companies.
  • Leads the processing of asset verification requests from Social Security Administration and DSHS, along with verification of deposits from various other agencies.
  • Processes Washington State Department of Revenue e-withhold file, in addition to the daily processing of both government levies and writ of garnishments from numerous collection agencies.
  • Completes member, staff, and subpoena research requests, including tracking and billing.
  • Assists with training staff on OnBase related functions as well as research and is a resource in this area to front line staff.
  • Assists with packaging, storing, and destruction of items for record retention.
  • Performs routine scanning, indexing, and auditing of items scanned into OnBase.
  • Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to staff or management when needed.
  • Assists Payments department with rescans of Check 21 images, including non-conforming images, locating missing items, reorganizing check batches, resolve foreign draft errors from branches, correct duplicate postings, as well as any other correction requests that inadvertently affected the member's account.
  • Balances all WECU ATMs utilizing the Fed File, Network, CheckAlt sites and communicating with appropriate departments of potential fraud, errors, and corrections.
  • Employs sound judgement, maintains knowledge of and, using decision-making skills, adheres to all standards on confidentiality and security of all documents, internal and external policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Meets or exceeds all behavioral standards of a WECU employee, with both internal and external members.
  • Effectively incorporates concepts of Deliver Value, Create Loyalty in daily behaviors and interactions with both internal and external members.
  • Responsible for complying with applicable regulations, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Regulation B), the Unfair, Deceptive and Abusive Acts and Practices provisions (UDAAP), Truth-in-Savings (NCUA Part 707), Expedited Funds Availability Act (Regulation CC), and Electronic Funds Transfer Act (Regulation E). Follows policy and procedures related to SARs by reporting suspicious activity to the Compliance department.
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to operate routine office equipment; proficient 10-key skills.
  • Member service experience preferred.
  • A minimum of six months' computer experience including familiarity with personal computers.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to interpret and explain credit union policy and transactions posted to members' accounts and to adhere to policy.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize and complete multiple jobs simultaneously.
  • Ability to represent the credit union in a positive, professional manner in person, on the telephone, and in written correspondence.
  • Ability to work well with others and determine when to refer a problem to someone else.

    COMPENSATION :

    The salary range for this position is from $20.00 to $26.95 per hour.
