POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. A Healthy Living Facilitator will help implement Healthy Living programs, represent the Y in the community as needed, and assist with other Healthy Living responsibilities as agreed upon with supervisor. You will assist the Healthy Living department in working with members and ensuring a safe environment. Strong communication, listening, organizational skills and positive attitude required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Be able to work as part of a team and maintain positive relations with Y staff.
2. Model the YMCA core values (honesty, respect, caring and responsibility) and philosophy of the YMCA with program participants and other staff in a positive and professional manner.
3. Assists Healthy Living Coordinators and Director in running programs as needed.
4. Have the ability to be creative with fitness activities that allow everyone the chance to participate and be successful as needed for specific programs.
5. Complete trainings assigned by supervisor.
6. Assist with special events that relate to programming including staff meetings, trainings, and community events or workshops.
7. Maintain records related to program implementation including monitoring participants.
8. Follow YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
9. Other duties as assigned related to Healthy Living.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must complete Child Abuse Prevention training within 15 days of hire, and complete refresher courses each year following.
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Has strong understanding of chronic disease illnesses and other health concerns and the impact they have on individuals, families and community.
- Has experience facilitating small groups.
- Has a strong desire to help adults, youth and/or families learn healthy habits.
- Have a valid CPR, First Aid, AED certifications or must be obtained within 30 days of hiring.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement appropriate program activities based on program participants.
- Reliable transportation.

Salary : $19 - $23
