As a Driver Safety Manager you must have excellent attention to detail. You will be able to discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs. The ability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential. Responsibilities of a Driver Safety Manager:
* Oversee regional implementation of corporate health and safety programs, policies, and procedures
* Develop and execute safety plans in the workplace in accordance with federal, state, local, and corporate guidelines
* Make risk assessments and evaluate practices, processes, and facilities to assess risk and bring deficiencies to the attention of local management and the corporate VP of Safety
* Assist VP of Safety with preparation of SOPs specific to the Nevada Region
* Enforce policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations to establish a culture of safety
* Conduct presentations for safety matters and accident prevention
* Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting drivers and operations
* Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and coach drivers
* Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
* Report on safety awareness, issues and statistics
Qualifications of a Driver Safety Manager:
* Able to work collaboratively with regional General Managers, OSHA, FMCSA, FTA, local committees and representatives, and the Corporate COO and VP of Safety
* Is self-directed and able to organize work, set priorities and achieve work-related objectives and goals
* Proven experience as a safety coordinator/manager
* Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
* Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies
* Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
* Excellent organizational and motivational skills
* Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
* BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred
