About the Role
As a Logistics Coordinator at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in managing and optimizing plant logistics operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has strong organizational skills.
What You’ll Do
- Dispatches and schedules truck loads, ensuring all logistics team needs are met.
- Schedules delivery appointments to facilitate on-time deliveries.
- Maintains relationships with Zekelman carrier base and ensures compliance with company rules and regulations.
- Maximizes shipment scheduling to optimize load efficiency.
- Uses TMS system, email, and phone to ensure all loads are covered and meet customer fill rate requirements.
- Researches and implements cost-saving opportunities without compromising customer service.
- Communicates with management and sales on customer service issues related to carriers.
- Coordinates with warehouse and shipping departments to improve loading efficiencies.
- Engages in proactive communication with managers, sales, and operations.
- Leads and promotes health and safety work practices in accordance with regulatory agencies and company policy.
- Maintains full-time, onsite attendance per the posted schedule.
Who You Are
- Associate’s degree with at least two years of logistics experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Highly organized with strong multi-tasking capabilities.
- Excellent data management and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
