Job Overview
The Day Assistant Supervisor serves as the working team lead of the Event Setup & Moving Crew, and in this capacity, is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and coordination for staff specializing in event support, moving and delivery services, occasional project work and floating custodial duties. This position also assists the Day Custodial Supervisor in organizing, evaluating, and managing the daily operations of assigned staff in a healthy, safe, and secure manner that is consistent with campus academic and student program needs, College policies, standards, and all applicable regulatory agency codes. The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for helping to ensure that all campus living, learning and work spaces are cleaned and maintained in accordance with established standards, methods, and resources. Reports to the Facilities Services Director and pays $22-24 / hour.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize event scheduling and work order systems to efficiently plan, schedule, and assign daily tasks.
- Regularly correspond and coordinate with Event Schedulers & Planners, Work Order Center staff, and customers.
- Maintain an inventory of event resources in clean and serviceable condition, initiating repair or replacement as necessary.
- Maintain an irregular work schedule as required to support scheduled events as well as routine and non-routine assignments.
- Assist staff as needed to contribute to efficient facilities operations.
- Ensure effective and efficient service to all customers.
- Continually monitor assigned work orders ensuring timely response for addressing the requested work, and clear communication to the customer regarding the work order status.
- Ensure that employee safety is a top priority and ensure that appropriate training is provided regarding cleaning processes, proper use of chemicals and equipment, lifting and hauling, and other work performed by assigned staff.
- Assist with campus-wide facilities processes as assigned.
- Must be responsive to emergency situations on campus 24 / 7 and designate backup when unavailable.
- Ensure that all routine and special activities are properly covered during his / her absence.

Physical Requirements
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motions, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, climb, crawl, crouch, stoop, kneel, bend, push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 pounds. The employee is also required to work outside at times for extended periods, in a variety of weather conditions.
