Duties and Responsibilities
- Informed by the conference schedule, maintain an irregular work schedule, which often includes overtime and weekends for conference checkout, and limit time off during the conference season.
- Provide direction and work alongside student employees to ensure optimal performance, reviewing and organizing daily assignments.
- Ensure student employees are properly trained in work procedures, cleaning standards, product and equipment usage, and safety precautions prior to beginning any assignment.
- Provide clear and concise instructions, direction, and opportunities for feedback.
- Perform regular inspections of all residential spaces cleaned by student employees, document deficiencies and direct remedial cleaning as needed.
- Assist Custodial Supervisor in maintaining accurate and up to date records.
- Conduct performance evaluations of student employees with input from student leaders.
- Maintain supplies and equipment in clean and organized manner, notifying Custodial Supervisor of needed supplies and equipment.
- Generate work orders as needed.

Qualifications
- Minimum two years of college
- Previous summer custodial experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literacy including experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Team player committed to institutional and departmental priorities, able to collaborate effectively with others
- Must be reliable and hold a sense of urgency for established timelines.
- Self-motivated, with efficient time management skills and the ability to solve problems
- Ability to pay attention to details and follow routines
- Ability to follow simple written or verbal directions
- Have and maintain a valid Illinois driver’s license
Physical Requirements
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motions, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, climb, crawl, crouch, stoop, kneel, bend, push, pull, lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
