Assist with the cleaning, stocking, and organization of the Grocery and Wellness department. Provide friendly, upbeat customer service and detailed product knowledge. Assist with cashiering, bagging, and other customer related tasks to ensure an enjoyable shopper experience.
About Us: Wheatsville Food Co-op is proud to have been serving the central Austin community since 1976. Starting with a group of unpaid volunteers affectionately known as “the turn-ups”, Wheatsville has sought to provide access to quality, sustainable food sources and be the heart of the community from our early days on Guadalupe to our expansion on South Lamar in 2013. Qualifications
- Engage with customers ensuring a friendly and positive experience
- Handle register transactions, answer phones, bag groceries, stock bathrooms, collect shopping carts, stock product, and provide carry out assistance to shoppers
- Maintain a clean, stocked and organized work station
- Develop a thorough knowledge and ability to explain the co-op's membership structure and cooperative principles – sign up new owners
- Ensure proper product rotation
- Develop and maintain extensive product and dietary trends knowledge to be able to efficiently and effectively address customer questions and needs
- This job requires frequent standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50lbs and exposure to extreme heat and cold
- A FOOD HANDLER’S & TABC CERTIFICATE are required
