WHEDA is seeking a Intern to join our Commercial Lending in our Madison facility.
SALARY: Hiring Range for this position is from $18.00/hr. Offered Salary will be based on qualifications and internal pay equity. WHEDA provides a competitive salary and WHEDA employees participate in the State of Wisconsin benefit package which includes retirement, health insurance and deferred compensation programs.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Commercial Lending Intern position will provide research, technical support and process improvement related to commercial lending programs managed by the Commercial Lending department. Primary focus will entail working with Housing Tax Credits and lending activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Best practices research for lending and tax credits, such as lending products, underwriting standards, tax credit policies of other agencies, etc.
- Analyzes and evaluates data and information to improve policies and procedures; recommends and assists with development of reports and software functionality, including edits and testing.
- Assists in creating and updating program materials for internal review and tracking and external use.
- Evaluates business group processes with focuses on activities related to tax credit allocating and lending tasks.
- Assists management in identifying, developing, and implementing tools needed to improve efficiency and accuracy; prepares recommendations for changes.
Performs or assists with other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma AND at least 2 years of accredited college education in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Proficiency with computer software, Microsoft Office, and the internet
- Data collection and research methods
- Database management principles
- Attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot for process improvement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Successful prioritizing and management of work projects
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Strong adherence to confidentiality in working with clients and vendors
Remote Work Options:
This position has a work schedule that will be 100% in-office work. Any change to this schedule will be at the discretion of the direct manager.
