WHEDA is seeking a Program Specialist to join our Commercial Lending Team in our Madison facility.
SALARY: Hiring Range for this position is from $45,078 to $54,604 Annually. Offered Salary will be based on qualifications and internal pay equity. WHEDA provides a competitive salary and WHEDA employees participate in the State of Wisconsin benefit package which includes retirement, health insurance and deferred compensation programs.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Program Specialist for Commercial Lending is responsible for administrative support for the department that includes both clerical and program coordination activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assists in coordinating and carrying out the day‐to‐day operations of the Commercial Lending department; monitors participants for program compliance in accordance with established program guidelines and regulations.
- Acts as a liaison between internal and external customers and Authority departments, responds to internal/external customer inquiries regarding policies and procedures.
- Processes a variety of documents including, but not limited to multi‐family loan applications, tax credits, tax‐exempt applications.
- Performs routine clerical work involving filing, typing, copying, answering phones, distributing materials and mail, and performing other related tasks
- Prepares and maintains program records and related reports; monitors and maintains data integrity in computer systems and/or physical files. Prepares policy and procedure documents as well as educational materials.
- Processes construction funding/draw request.
- Coordinates and assists with administration of Federal funds.
- Designs and maintains team web pages.
- Participates in analysis of current programs and procedures, to ensure maximum efficiency or needed updating/improvements are implemented.
- Performs or assists with other organization needs as requested or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma, or G.E.D.
- 4 years of progressively responsible experience related to program administrative duties.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Proficiency with software applications
- Data collection methods
- Leasing, Occupancy, and fair housing principles
- Loan programs and documentation requirements
- Underwriting principles and practices
- Mathematical principles and practices
- Modern office practices and equipment
- Strong adherence to confidentiality in working with clients and vendors
- Attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot for process improvement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Successful prioritizing and management of work projects
Remote Work Options:
This position has a work schedule that will initially be 100% in-office. After training is complete, it is at the discretion of the direct manager when the employee may begin a hybrid work schedule.
