Production Technician
Wheel & Sprocket is a growing, nationally-recognized specialty bicycle retailer with a robust brick-and-mortar and online presence. A Production Technician should be organized, highly mechanically inclined, passionate about bikes, and able to complete work orders and related tasks to the high quality standards established by the company.
Job Description
- Technical responsibilities
- Complete bicycle service work orders in timely manner
- All service packages from basic to comprehensive
- A la carte services per service menu including, but not limited to: Tire/tube replacements; Cable and housing replacement; Adjust/repair derailleurs; Adjust/repair brakes; Replace/repair shifters; Replace chain, cassette, bar tape/grips; Wheel true and dish; Drivetrain cleaning; Disc brake and dropper post service; Inspect and assess frame and components for damage or replacement
- Assemble new bikes as needed
- Maintain 24-hour turnaround and scheduled work while completing assigned work to a high level of quality, quickly and efficiently
- Customer experience excellence
- Be friendly and available while interacting with customers; providing answers on maintenance and related sales opportunities
- Reviews RPM scorecard weekly
- Able to make changes as needed to achieve RPM goals
- Actively participates in continuous learning
- Maintains current knowledge of assembly standards internally and externally
- Maintains Guide Status on Trek U
- Ability to lift 75 lbs

Requirements
- Preferred 1-5 years of mechanical or tech experience working on bicycles
- Is neat, organized and is respectful of a shared workspace
- Has experience in a retail or customer service environment
- Is intrinsically motivated, able to work both independently and as a member of a team, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Technology platforms: Google Apps (email, calendar, drive)
Other Notes
This position is based at an individual store location, but may require the willingness to travel to other locations or off-site events a few times per year. This is a seasonal, hourly position, and may have full time or part time hours. Due to the seasonality of our business, Seasonal Employees train and work during our Peak Season (March-August). Most Seasonal employees end their employment at the end of Peak Season, and many return to work again at the start of the next year’s peak season. This position offers many benefits including PTO, product discounts, bike-commuter credits and other fringe benefits to those that qualify.
