What are the responsibilities and job description for the Produce Clerk position at Wheeler Dealer?
Responsibilities:
- Candidates should have working knowledge of seasonal purchases, how to work with vendors and merchandising produce.
- Receive deliveries, unload incoming shipments and move pallets or cases into refrigerators.
- Regularly rotating stock and assist Produce Manager in running the department
- Follows Produce Managers direction on policies and procedures in the department.
- Stock and replenish displays to maintain full appearance, including fronting and straightening products
- Go through all produce to pull foods unacceptable for sale
- Help set up displays
- Assists in pricing and ordering produce
- Assist customers on produce sales floor
Job Requirements:
- Grocery/produce experience a plus
- Good communication skills
- Solid reading and math skills
- Physical abilities require continuous standing, walking, bending, reaching, sitting and carrying loads between 15-50 lbs
