Patient Access Supervisor
Employment Type : Direct Hire
Location : Lincoln, NE 68510
100% Onsite – Required to be on-site for all shifts.
Relocation Assistance : Up to $5,000 (dependent on location and circumstances).
Sign-On Bonus : Up to $10,000 (if relocation is not utilized).
Salary : $40K - $53K
Work Hours : Day shift, but flexibility required based on departmental needs.
Team Structure :
13 staff members (excluding open team lead, open supervisor, and PRN role).
Collaborative, cross-trained, and engaged team with a strong communication culture.
Reports to Robert Garcia (Hiring Manager) – open-door policy, available 24 / 7.
Job Summary :
The Patient Access Supervisor will oversee the Emergency Department (ED) registration team, ensuring smooth daily operations, mentoring staff, and implementing best practices for patient access processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Provide daily support, mentoring, and training to both new and existing Patient Access staff.
Assist in planning and implementation of processes in all Registration Process areas (Admitting, Centralized Scheduling, Emergency Department, and offsite clinics).
Maintain a high level of customer service, assisting staff in resolving escalated issues.
Enforce departmental policies, practices, and procedures in alignment with hospital and corporate guidelines.
Monitor daily activity and performance metrics, including financial clearance reports.
Perform all Patient Access functions as needed.
Act as a key part of the management team, ensuring operational goals are met.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Direct Reports : Patient Access Representatives I-IV
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
In-depth knowledge of Health Care Information Systems.
Understanding of Revenue Cycle Management and Regulatory Agencies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Education & Experience :
High School Diploma required.
College degree preferred (Business, Accounting, Medical Administration, or related field).
4 years of experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or related area.
5 years of Patient Access experience preferred.
2 years in a supervisory or lead role preferred .
