Patient Access Supervisor
Employment Type : Direct Hire
Location : Chattanooga, TN 37404, 100% Onsite – Required to be on-site for all shifts.
Relocation Assistance : Up to $5,000 (dependent on location and circumstances).
Sign-On Bonus : Up to $10,000 (if relocation is not utilized).
Salary : $39K - $49K (potential for higher compensation based on experience and leadership background).
Work Hours : Primarily Monday - Friday , but may require availability for late shifts and weekend rotations.
Team Structure :
Supervises 10-11 employees when fully staffed.
Covers outpatient leadership and cardiology as needed.
May need to provide coverage at additional location during late shifts.
Rotates on-call weekends every 6 weeks , depending on staffing levels.
Job Summary :
The Patient Access Supervisor will oversee the Emergency Department (ED) registration team , ensuring smooth daily operations, mentoring staff, and implementing best practices for patient access processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Provide daily support, mentoring, and training to both new and existing Patient Access staff.
Assist in short- and long-term planning for all areas of the Registration Process (including Admitting, Centralized Scheduling, Emergency Department, and offsite clinics).
Maintain a high level of customer service by helping staff resolve escalated issues.
Enforce departmental policies, practices, and procedures in line with hospital and corporate guidelines.
Monitor daily activities and performance metrics, including financial clearance reports.
Perform all Patient Access functions as needed.
Serve as an essential member of the management team, ensuring operational goals are achieved. Supervisory Responsibilities :
Direct Reports : Patient Access Representatives I-IV
Requirements :
High School Diploma required.
College degree preferred (Business, Accounting, Medical Administration, or related field).
4 years of experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or related area.
5 years of Patient Access experience preferred.
2 years in a supervisory or lead role preferred.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
In-depth knowledge of Health Care Information Systems.
Understanding of Revenue Cycle Management and Regulatory Agencies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
