Position Overview :

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager for an on-site position at our client’s state-of-the-art facility in Plano, TX. This role offers the opportunity to lead the Quality Assurance team, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. Ideal candidates will have experience in quality management within the packaging and printing industries, with specific expertise in ISO compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

Quality Management System (QMS) : Develop, implement, and manage the site QMS to align with industry standards and organizational goals.

Continuous Improvement : Drive quality and process optimization initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and boost customer satisfaction.

Quality Control Leadership : Lead quality efforts across the plant, ensuring products meet or exceed established quality standards and client expectations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work with cross-functional teams to implement quality improvements, streamline processes, and achieve cost-effective solutions.

Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) : Ensure timely resolution and closure of CAPA plans to prevent recurring quality issues.

Audits and Assessments : Conduct regular quality audits, assessing the effectiveness of QMS processes and identifying areas for improvement.

Data-Driven Decisions : Analyze quality performance data, develop insights, and use metrics to make informed decisions and adjustments.

Training and Development : Provide quality-related training and mentorship to employees, reinforcing best practices and quality standards.

Supplier Quality Management : Implement and manage a supplier quality system, conducting evaluations and audits to verify the quality of incoming materials.

Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards for packaging and printing.

KPI Monitoring : Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

Team Leadership : Oversee a team of 4 in the Quality Department, fostering a culture of quality excellence and accountability.

Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Experience : Minimum of 5 years in quality management within the printing and packaging industries, demonstrating a history of improving quality standards.

ISO Knowledge : Strong expertise in ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and familiarity with FSC, SFI, and PEFC certifications.

Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective, data-driven solutions.

Leadership : Prior experience managing direct reports and leading quality-focused teams to drive standardization and continuous improvement.

Technical Proficiency : Skilled in quality management systems, data analysis tools, and software applications, with QCBD Software experience as a plus.

Certifications : Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) preferred; Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
