Senior Information Security Analyst
Location : Split between Dallas, TX 75247 and Farmers Branch, TX 75234
Remote / Onsite Expectation : Occasional onsite presence required to meet with stakeholders.
Duration : 3-4 months contract, with the intent to convert to a permanent position.
Compensation : $43-$52 / hour
Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Senior Information Security Analyst for our client in Dallas, TX. This role is pivotal in safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data, including patient records and critical organizational information. As a key member of the team, you will promote and implement information security best practices, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Security Incident Response & Forensics
Lead responses to security incidents, preserving forensic evidence, conducting root cause analysis, and identifying improvement opportunities.
Maintain incident databases and provide detailed reports to leadership and regulatory agencies.
Security Safeguards & System Protection
Ensure compliance with security patch management and antivirus policies.
Oversee Active Directory protection and coordinate remediation efforts.
Support disaster recovery initiatives in collaboration with IT teams.
Email Gateway & Endpoint Security
Manage email gateway alerts, quarantine reviews, and agent updates.
Regularly monitor EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) and SIEM portals for threats.
Monitoring & Reporting
Aggregate and analyze SIEM logs for security events.
Administer DLP tools and TRAP alerts to safeguard organizational data.
Deliver monthly metrics reports, project updates, and penetration testing results to leadership.
Training & Awareness Programs
Develop and deliver effective security training for technical and non-technical staff.
Disseminate security notices and coordinate communication initiatives.
Surveillance & Access Control
Review quarterly reports and address security concerns related to physical access control systems.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with IT, disaster recovery, and application support teams to integrate security measures.
Prepare technical briefings, reports, and presentations on security incidents and trends.
Support Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) teams by providing critical insights.
Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (required).
Master’s Degree in Information Security or Cybersecurity (preferred).
Experience :
5-7 years of experience in IT Security, with prior IT experience before transitioning to security roles.
Healthcare or insurance industry experience highly preferred.
Hands-on experience with SIEM tools, IDS / IPS, firewalls, endpoint protection, and cloud security.
Certifications (Preferred) :
CISSP, CISA, GIAC, CEH, CISM, or CompTIA Security .
Skills and Abilities :
Proficiency with compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, NIST, and ISO / IEC.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Salary : $43 - $52
