What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiving Lead position at WheelerShip?
WheelerShip is looking for a Receiving Lead to join our team in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will flawlessly direct and coordinate receiving, inventory, and returns processes according to established operating procedures. This person will be responsible for leading the receiving team, including container unload team, inventory specialists, and RMA specialists.

General Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with procurement person(s) to list expected deliveries
- Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
- Unload packages from incoming trucks
- Request proper staffing for floor-loaded containers
- Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
- Contact supplier or buyer if a mistake is identified
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
- Ensure invoices are signed and put into the system for satisfactory deliveries
- Oversee the receipt of purchased goods verifying counts and quality, complete transactions to receive product, process paperwork and complete all necessary transactions according to established procedures
- Locate product to the appropriate areas according to procedure
- Lead the Returns Department ensuring the day-to-day goals are reached
- Be responsible for maintaining and keeping inventory accurate by following SOP
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises up to 3 employees in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two year's experience as a Receiving Lead or similar position
- Experience in operating forklifts
- Excellent computer skills, high level of comfort with common warehouse technology
- Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
- Ability to read and interpret documents, instructions, and manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to calculate and record figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area and volume
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Great communication and interpersonal abilities
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations
- Should be able to bend, lift up to 55 pounds, spend time on feet; however reasonable accommodations may be made to enable differently abled individuals to perform the essential functions.
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
