Loan Rep I

Description

Provide quality service when communicating with members. Under general supervision, gather and process necessary loan documents for direct and indirect consumer loans and obtain a loan decision. Review loan file for accuracy and correspond with the members on the status of the loan. Prepare loan package for disbursement of loan proceeds. Ensure applicant information is current in all applicable computer systems. Meet disclosure timelines and loan conditions according to policies and regulations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepare loan applications received through various delivery channels including but not limited to the internet, call center, and lending portal for underwriting.
• Process the documents received for each loan file verifying the accuracy and completeness of each document. Update data within the core system or lending operating system upon receipt of documents.
• Open new membership accounts, promote and cross-sell Credit Union products and services, and remember to member inquiries.
• Notify member of loan decision. Ensure that applicants receive all necessary notifications according to the respective regulations. (i.e., adverse action letter, pre-approval notice, etc.).
• Request necessary documents to complete loan package for funding.
• Complete and ensure all documents contain current and accurate applicant and loan information.
• Schedule delivery of loan documents in accordance with the member’s request (i.e., in branch signing or the Credit Union’s electronic delivery system.
• Fund loan packages within the applicable time requirements according to loan instructions and stipulations.
• Prepare and submit automatic and ACH payment request.
• Keep and ensure compliance with Truth in Lending (RegZ), RESPA, ECOA (RegB), Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program (CIP) and other Federal and State lending laws and regulations.
• Assist loan servicing as needed.
• Assist with processing the indirect loan applications.
• Maintain and balance operator drawer daily.
• Register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) and State of California Department of Insurance. Will be required to undergo a background check. Registration with the NMLS to be maintained on an annual basis.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a branch platform experience (new accounts) with six months of loan processing experience.
• May be required to work after normal business hours and on weekends.
• General knowledge of Federal and State regulations as they pertain to lending is a plus.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills including telephone etiquette.
• Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships are essential.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Proficiency with operating general office equipment (including copier, fax machine, scanner), as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.).
• Working knowledge of computers and ability to learn new systems.
• Knowledge and understanding of the mission and vision of the Credit Union. Strictly adhere to the Credit Union’s policy of confidentiality, security, professional conduct and dress.
