Job Summary : IMU - Intermediate Care Unit (Cost Center 6010)
30-Beds (14 Private & 16 Semi-private)
Patient Ratios : Goal is 1 : 4, usually running 1 : 5, occasionally 1 : 6
Common diagnoses include chest pain, r / o MI, CHF, Arrhythmias, post pacer, pre / post Caths.
Job Requirements
ACLS certification required
BLS certification required
NIHSS certification required
Unexpired copy of the candidate's driver's license must be included in submissions
Schedule Information
12-hour shifts : Must be on the unit ready to go by 6 : 45 am / pm
Shifts run from 7a - 7p
Self-scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met
Weekend shifts : Fri / Sat / Sun considered weekend shifts; must work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
Unit Specific Information
Unit Details : IMU - Intermediate Care Unit
Nurse aides usually have 2-3 CNAs with ratios of 1 : 10-12
Floating required into Tele or MedSurg as needed
Additional Details
Travelers must be flexible with holiday shifts; usually covered by permanent staff
Charge nurses take a full patient assignment on both day & night shifts
