Job Purpose:
- The Coordinator, Nursing Skill & Simulation Lab is responsible for the overall management, operation, and maintenance of the Nursing Skill & Simulation Lab. This includes coordinating lab activities, ensuring equipment functionality, and supporting nursing faculty and students in achieving their learning objectives through simulation and skills practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the Nursing Skill & Simulation Lab, including scheduling, equipment setup, and resource allocation.
- Maintain all simulation equipment, task trainers, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order and readily available for use.
- Collaborate with nursing faculty to develop and implement simulation scenarios and skills practice activities that align with course objectives.
- Provide technical support and training to faculty and students on the use of simulation equipment and software.
- Assist in the development and evaluation of simulation-based learning experiences.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control practices within the lab environment.
- Maintain accurate records of lab usage, equipment maintenance, and simulation activities.
- Order and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for lab operations.
- Stay current with best practices in simulation education and technology.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance simulation expertise.
- Assist with the orientation and training of new faculty and staff on the use of the simulation lab.
- Contribute to the overall success of the nursing program through effective lab management and support.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing
- Active, unencumbered license as a registered nurse in WV
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Five (5) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse
- Two (2) years of experience teaching in a registered nurse program (preferred)
- Two (2) years of simulation experience (preferred)
