Director, Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN FNP) Program
Wheeling University – Wheeling, WV
Full-Time | 12-Month Contract
Wheeling University invites applications for the position of Director of the MSN FNP Program. This full-time, 12-month position involves both administrative leadership and teaching responsibilities within the Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner track.
Position Summary
The Director will be responsible for overseeing the academic integrity, strategic development, and day-to-day operations of the MSN FNP program. This role includes teaching graduate-level courses, advising students, maintaining compliance with accrediting bodies, and leading continuous curriculum improvement in alignment with current professional standards and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities

Provide academic leadership and direction for the MSN FNP Program

Teach courses within the MSN FNP curriculum

Ensure curriculum remains current and compliant with national standards and accrediting bodies

Participate in academic advising, faculty committees, and service to the university community

Engage in scholarly and professional development activities

Support student success and academic excellence

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
-
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Ph.D. in Nursing
-
Active West Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) license
-
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in West Virginia
-
National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
-
Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience

Previous experience as a Program Director preferred

Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the collegiate level
