Position Overview:
Wheeling University is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join the Athletics Department as a Graduate Assistant for the Women’s Golf program. This position will provide valuable hands-on experience in coaching, recruiting, and administrative support while pursuing graduate studies at Wheeling University. The Graduate Assistant will work closely with the Head Coach of Women's Golf to assist with the development and success of the program.
Key Responsibilities:

Coaching & Training Support:
- Assist with the organization and implementation of daily practice sessions.
- Provide individual instruction to athletes to enhance technical skills and overall performance.
- Attend and assist at team practices, competitions, and other team-related events.

Recruiting & Scouting:
- Help in the recruitment process by identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes.
- Maintain communication with recruits and their families.
- Assist in the planning and execution of recruiting events.

Administrative Duties:
- Assist with organizing team travel arrangements, lodging, and itineraries for away games and tournaments.
- Assist with maintaining team records, statistics, and other paperwork related to the program.
- Help with the social media management and promotion of the program.

Team Support:
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to student-athletes both on and off the course.
- Foster a positive team culture and maintain open communication between players and coaching staff.

Other Duties:
- Participate in department-wide athletic events and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletics Department.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree required. Admission to Wheeling University’s graduate program is required (please see graduate program offerings for eligibility).
- Experience: Prior experience in golf, preferably at the collegiate or competitive amateur level, is preferred. Coaching experience is a plus but not required.
