Role Overview: What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, the RTS Inspector assists the company’s inspection and quality assurance maintenance personnel and operations. This position contributes to safety, reliability, and economy by performing daily Return to Service activities, maintaining electronic maintenance tracking, and continuously surveilling/auditing maintenance by effectively utilizing processes, procedures, databases, and electronic equipment.
Responsibilities
Your Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Approve aircraft for return to service.
- Update and maintain accuracy of aircraft maintenance tracking databases.
- Assist the Quality Control Manager (QCM) with reviews and audits.
- Assist QC Department in ascertaining that maintenance documentation is properly maintained, accurate, and retrievable
- Provide current, efficient, and appropriate direction and information to the maintenance and operations teams.
- Work with maintenance vendors to ensure their work and documentation are completed to Wheels Up’s high standards.
- Other duties as assigned by the QCM.
Qualifications
What You Bring to the Table: Education & Certification Requirements
We’re looking for someone who has a unique mix of experience, skills, and passion for what we do:
- Current FAA Airframe and Power Plant Certificate
- 2 years’ experience working with one, or some of the following aircraft: Citation X, King Air 350, Beechjet, Gulfstream G-IV, Challenger 350, Phenom 300, in a Part 135 or Part 145 environment
- Be able to read, write and understand the English language
- Knowledgeable in FAR Part 135 aviation maintenance operations.
- Familiarity in aviation maintenance tracking programs (Ex.: CAMP, CMP, Avtrak, Corridor).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize duties based on immediate need
- Ability to travel and attend aircraft, engine, and equipment training
- Ability to flex schedule and work weekends
The Extras We Value (Preferred Requirements)
While not mandatory, here are some additional things that would make you stand out:
- Experience with the factory inspection programs associated to above listed aircraft
- Associate's degree in aviation maintenance-related concentration
- Previous experience in a Part 135 or Part 145 QA/QC or Maintenance Control role
Physical Requirements
We want to make sure you’re fully equipped for success. Here’s a look at any physical requirements needed for this role:
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
- Good vision and depth perception
- Ability to work in an office environment 40 hours per week

At Wheels Up, we believe in fair compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The salary for this role ranges from $68,000 to $102,000, depending on a variety of factors. We don’t typically start individuals at the top of the salary range; your place within the range is based on what you bring to the table. Additionally, you may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program, which rewards individual and organizational performance.
