Whelcon Contractors is looking for a skilled Heavy Machine Operator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of equipment, ensuring high-quality production standards are met. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and collaboration within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Be able to operate the following machinery: GANNON, EXCAVATOR, MINI-EXCAVATOR, FINISH BLADE, LOADER, BACKHOE, SKID STEER, DUMP TRUCK, etc.
• Operate machinery and equipment in accordance with safety protocols and operational guidelines.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments, including calipers, to verify product specifications and quality control standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings to understand project requirements.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement solutions effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of production data, including package counts and quality metrics.

Requirements

• Talk, hear, and see with the ability to distinguish colors.
• Stand, walk, sit, or kneel for long periods of time.
• Previous experience in civil construction is preferred.
• Proficient in basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to production tasks.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking abilities are necessary for troubleshooting equipment issues.
• A commitment to safety practices and maintaining a clean work environment is required.
• Wear weighted safety gear, such as steel-toed shoes, a belt safety harness, and a hard hat, for long periods of time, as required by safety regulations.
• Lift and carry 40 lbs of weight.
• Perform daily work in an outdoor environment.

Pay: $24.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
