About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Orthopedic Care Specialist to join our team at Whidbey General Hospital. As an integral part of our orthopedic department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our surgeons in their daily activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply and remove dressings, casts, and splints as required.
- Assist physicians with back-office duties, including rooming patients, taking vital signs, and assisting with minor procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to prescription refill protocol.
- Perform basic triage according to specific office protocols and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations.
- Keep work areas, exam rooms, supplies, medications, and immunizations well-maintained.
- Perform associated clerical tasks, such as scheduling, filing, recalls, and document work processes as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Highest level of education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
- At least one-year experience in an orthopedic setting preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is essential.
