Orthopedic Technician Role
Whidbey General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Technician to join our team. As an integral part of our orthopedics department, you will play a critical role in supporting the care of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply and remove dressings, removing sutures/staples, applying, and removing casts and splints.
- Assist physician in back-office duties, including rooming patients, taking vital signs, and assisting with minor procedures.
- Adhere to prescription refill protocol.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Perform basic triage per specific office protocol procedures.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
- Maintain work area, exam rooms, supplies, medications, and immunizations.
- Document work processes as required.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A high school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
Preferred Qualifications
We prefer candidates with:
- MA with at least one-year appropriate experience in an orthopedic setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
