Job Title: Gate Assembler Department: Assembly
Reports To: Assembly Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-exempt
PURPOSE: Assemble water control products and perform testing to confirm operability
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
- Read blueprints and specifications to plan, layout and assemble water control products
- Assemble product using hand, air, and power tools
- Perform final inspection and water testing to ensure conformance with specifications and drawings
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts and other heavy machinery to position and move work
- Nothing in this job description restricts managements right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education – High School Diploma, GED, or Vocational School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred
Experience – 2 years metal fabrication or equivalent experience
Training – Hoist and Forklift training preferred
Skills – Hand, air and power tools, shop measuring devices and basic shop math.
EFFORT:
Physical- Lifting to 50 lbs., primarily standing job, use of hand and power tools
Mental – Strong attention to detail to maintain specifications
Visual – Ability to compare final product to blueprints and specifications to confirm quality and accuracy
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Noise – Hearing protection required when operating certain machinery/equipment. See Hearing Conservation Written Program for details.
Temperature / Weather – heated shop, normal temp fluctuation
Dust – moderate dust
Hazardous Chemicals and Materials- solvents, adhesives and abrasive materials. See Hazard Communication Written Program for details.
Hazardous Conditions – movement of large, heavy gates throughout shop
Work Hours – 50 hrs/wk
Travel- Possible travel across the US and overseas as determined by Field Service needs
