Job Description:

As a Wedding DJ/Emcee at Whirlin' Disc Sound, you'll play a pivotal role in orchestrating the soundtrack and atmosphere of some of the most important and memorable moments in our clients' lives. You'll not only be responsible for curating playlists and spinning tunes but also for masterfully leading the event and engaging the audience as the Emcee. Your passion for music, charisma, and attention to detail will be the driving forces behind ensuring our clients' wedding day is a spectacular and unforgettable experience.

Responsibilities:

Create and curate playlists tailored to each client's preferences and event theme

You will have access to client preferences/suggestions for less-focal moments of a wedding, such as Cocktail Hour and Dinner, as well as a more detailed list of Must Plays, Don’t Plays, and Suggestions for the Open Dance Section

Audio Equipment Management:

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot audio equipment, including sound systems, microphones, and lighting, etc.

Emcee Duties:

Act as the master of ceremonies, guiding the flow of the event with a friendly, engaging, and professional demeanor.

Make announcements, introduce speakers, and keep the audience informed and entertained.

Event Coordination:

Collaborate with wedding planners and other vendors to ensure seamless coordination and timing of events.

Client Consultation:

Meet with clients before the event to discuss their vision, music preferences, and any special requests.

Adaptability:

Be prepared to adjust the playlist and entertainment style based on the audience's response and preferences.

Professionalism:

Dress appropriately for the occasion, maintain a clean and organized setup, and always present a professional image.

Qualifications:

(Recommended) Proven experience as a DJ and Emcee, particularly in wedding and special event settings

(Required) Strong knowledge of a wide range of music genres and the ability to read the crowd.

(Required) Excellent public speaking and communication skills.

(Recommended) Proficiency in using DJ software and audio equipment.

Weekend Availability required

Mode of transportation (with space to accommodate audio equipment) required

Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with clients and their guests.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $60.00 - $90.00 per hour

Location: Buffalo, NY

Schedule: Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types: Tips

Ability to commute/relocate: Buffalo, NY: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

License/Certification: Driver's License (Required)

Willingness to travel: 25% (Preferred)
