The Opportunity:
- We’re seeking a talented and experienced Transportation Manager to join our management team in Houston.
- In this position, you will lead the business function of inbound raw materials and outbound finished metal building product deliveries.
- You will own the carrier relationships, agreements and performance for the Houston and Atlanta facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the inbound and outbound logistics function, managing raw material intake and the delivery of finished metal building products.
- Manage third-party flatbed carriers transporting products to job sites across the U.S. from Houston and Atlanta.
- Evaluate current shipping scheduling and routing processes
- Potentially implement Whirlwind owned fleet
- Negotiate contracts with carriers and ensure adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
- Oversee daily workflow, schedules, and assignments while ensuring safe practices.
- Ensure that all jobs are transported efficiently and cost-effectively, adhering to company policies and procedures while maintaining product quality and integrity.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in shipping and logistics management within a manufacturing or similar industry.
- Experience managing a company-owned fleet.
- Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, DOT requirements, safety, and compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with other departments.
